Optical illusions which are also known as visual illusions happen when an object is perceived differently from its actual state. Optical illusions can occur naturally and it could be made. Every day, the traffic keeps on increasing in any state or country across the world and it becomes very difficult for the police to have control on the traffic. Despite of using signals, many a times, the drivers are not very careful and accidents do keep on happening. The concept of optical illusions is getting used widely to stop people from rash driving. Transportations optical illusions are basically used to give a check to the speeding vehicles by using certain objects which are actually not there in real. One of the most commonly used transportation optical illusions is the potholes. The police put 3D stickers which are perceived by the drivers as real potholes thus they slow down the vehicles and collisions could be avoided. Another way to slow down the traffic is the use of 3 D speed bumps which creates optical illusions for the drivers and they are bound to drive the vehicle slowly thus avoiding any accident. There are many busy streets or roads where putting of signs do not result in remarkable improvement in traffic so the police department has tried out with transverse optical bars painted on the road which shrinks as the drivers go closer to the curve so the drivers are forced to think they are driving fast hence they slow down.
