Transparent Optical Illusions

Visual illusion as it is also known as optical illusion happens when people perceive images in a different way than the object is in actual reality. When we look at the objects, the information is gathered by the eyes and is sent to the brain. When the perception of the object for which the information are sent to the brain does not match with the physical attributes of the object in reality, it creates optical or visual illusion. The optical illusion could be natural or man made. People from different spheres of life have started using the concept of optical illusions for different purposes. Fashion designer Jessica Head has used the transparent optical illusions to create transparent clothes. The clothes are actually not the transparent one but it is because of the painting done which provides the transparent optical illusions. Transparent optical illusions like any optical illusions have been able to draw attraction of common people so companies are using this concept to create awareness about their brand and to allure people about their products. One very common and famously known transparent illusion is the perceptual transparency shown by the Hering illusion discovered by Ewald Hering, a German physiologist. In perceptual transparency, one surface is looked behind another one. In this illusion, two red lines are parallel to each other but they do not seem such as there are black lines. These red lines seem to be bulging out from the center but actually the angles are made at the point of intersection resulting in distortion.
