Are The Lines Parallel?
The lines appearing in the illusionary image are parallel or not.

We face optical illusions in our daily lives. Some of the optical illusions are natural while some are created to trick our brain. Many famous people have shown their interest in optical illusions and there have been a lot of work done in this field. When a viewer looks at the seemingly Bent illusion, it appears as if the designs are in the bent form but actually the designs are not bent. One of the most known examples of the Seemingly Bent Optical Illusion is the Hering illusion. The Hering illusion was discovered in 1861 by Ewald Heing who was a German physiologist. In this illusion, two red lines run parallel to each other they do not seem to be parallel due to the presence of back lines. When the viewer look at this optical illusion, the red lines seem to bulge out from the center but in reality this distortion occurs due to the overestimation the angle that is made at the points of intersection. Another German psychologist described the Seemingly Bent Optical illusions in the 19th Century. Created by Mauricio Lara and Sebastian Lara, the Sima Pashtun rug illusion is another very good example of seemingly bent optical illusion In this illusion, the rug seems to be melting into the floor or stretching out but actually that is not happening. The renowned companies use these optical illusions to market their products by make people aware of their presence. We are familiar with the Google earth images where the roads and bridges seem warping. This is also an optical illusion.
